Originally released in 1983, Mama Africa is one of Peter Tosh’s most celebrated solo albums, blending roots reggae with Tosh’s unmistakable political consciousness and powerful vocal delivery. The album features the classic title track alongside “Johnny B. Goode,” Tosh’s reggae interpretation of the Chuck Berry rock ’n’ roll standard, as well as “Where Is The Love,” “Stop That Train,” and “Feel No Way.”
With its combination of infectious rhythms, social commentary, and militant roots reggae spirit, Mama Africa is an essential addition to any Peter Tosh or classic reggae collection.
